Hello, I am very newly considering home birth. I had a cesarean this past June and my husband and I are going to try to conceive this summer. I am strongly interested in a NCB and believe home birth may be the BEST decision for my whole family. It has been very difficult finding midwives in my area to talk to because this state is so unsupportive. If anyone has any ideas for me I'd love some assistance. Thank you! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/eyesroll.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="roll">

There are a few central illinois homebirthers on this board, and a few midwives around. The general procedure is you get pregnant, find someone who knows a midwife (hi!), that someone passes on your informatin, midwife contacts you.

I think I found the right contacts. Thanks everyone! Any more recommendations for DEM's around champaign-urbana are welcome though. Thanks!

What is your general area in central Illinois? There are some legal CNM's in the Bloomington-Peoria area, but I'm not sure if they do VBAC's. I also know of some DEM's in the Champaign-Decatur area.
