Hi all. I suppose I should introduce myself first: I'm Rachel, due 7/27 and this is my second pregnancy (m/c 9/04). I was hoping that someone might be able to offer me some peace of mind that "everything turned out just fine" for them after going through what I did last night...

Last night I noticed blood when I went to the bathroom, not a lot, but enough to warrant panic, especially knowing my previous m/c. So, dh and I rushed to the er and had blood work, and an u/s and the baby is fine, little heart beating, and measuring 7 weeks. The bleeding has now stopped, but I am still in such a panic. Everything I read says that bleeding is common and doesn't always mean something bad. But you can imagine that I am not sold on that considering the previous m/c. Is this something that has happened to any of you? Any insights would be so much appreciated.

Thanks for the support.

With my first pregnancy I bled at 6 weeks and rushed to the ER as well. My daughter is now 3.

Sending you positive thoughts and prayers for the next few months!

I experienced bleeding with my first child at around 7 weeks also. He is now 19 months old and healthy as can be. It can be so scary not knowing if everything is ok or not. I am sorry for your previous loss. Just try to be positive and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I bled somewhere between 6 and 8 weeks with #1 and he's now 3 years old.

I had a mc in October, so I totally understand your fear. Did seeing the little heartbeat help? I saw mine yesterday and it really made me feel better about this pregnancy.

I think I know just how you feel. I wonder each day if I will miscarry.

My first pregnancy had a bright red episode of bleeding around week 9, and ended in the birth of my beautiful daughter several months later. My second pregnancy ended in miscarriage after I started to bleed around 8 weeks. I am now in my third pregnancy, and have had several bleeding episodes. I don't seem to be miscarrying, as the bleeding has stopped fairly quickly after each episode, but I am still worried. I am trying to just be a peace with everything (not to worry you, but the fact is, no matter how far we get in a pregnancy, sometimes things don't go as we'd like, it's just the way in life and death ). ***The fact that you have seen your baby's heartbeat means your chances of miscarrying are very low.***

I agree with Binah. I think the fact that you saw the hb increases your chances of carrying to term. Also, bleeding does seem to be really common in early pregnancy. The cervix can be a little sensitive from what I've read. If you'd had sex previous to the bleeding that could have irritated the cervix and caused it. That would be nothing to worry about. Still, I know it can be hard not to worry.
