my dd is 4 weeks old today.
she''s been staying at the breast more then average since yesterday. I though she just needed to suck, but today it seems like she's trying to actually eat more.
I used to only do one breast per feeding, but now she sucks and doesn't swallow much by the end, so I tried putting her to the other breast and she took it and ate. but if I will just switch breasts like this, how will my body know to start making more to keep up with her?

Yep...your body just knows. My dd was a power nuser, using both breasts at each feeding. And DS even though he is only 2 days old is nursing constantly. If you want you can buy mothers milk tea...go to the health food store. It has all thoese great herbs for helping increase your supply

Whenever I noticed that DS was at the breast more, I would try to take a day and not run errands, let the house be a mess, eat leftovers - and snuggle close to him all day. Sometimes we would laze in bed, I would keep my bra off, and let him nurse nurse nurse all day.

It could be a growth spurt, it could be he just needs you more, or it could be you've been too busy and he wants to reconnect with you. Just follow his and your cues and keep nursing right through it.

my dd is 4 weeks old yesterday and i just went through the same exact thing...for 3 days!!!! She wanted to nurse all day long it seemed like..Must be another growth spurt......She is now back on her reg. schedule of eating every 3-4 hours ...Your body will keep up the production as long as you continue to feed her on demand..=) good luck!!

mine seemed toonly do that for a day and is now back to regular.
is your dd also eating every 3-4 hours? sometimes mine will eat every 2, but sometimes 3-4 and I was starting to wonder if she nurses often enough. she is growing and doesn't look dehydrated, but I still had those thoughts in the back of my mind.
