My SIL has an idea for a product. She has asked me to help make the samples. Then she wants to try to sell her idea or keep it as her own business and find a manufacturer. Anyone have any experience doing either of these things? Any advice or info appreciated.

I work with this sort of thing all the time. What did you want to know? Just off the top of my head, the most important thing to do before you show anyone, anything is to have them sign an NDA- Non- disclosure agreement. You can find a form of this printed up and ready to go from one of the Nolo Press books. www.nolo.com This will give you some protection when presenting to sell to a company or showing the idea or product to a manufacturer or anyone that you might have work on it.
