Well a part of me says I should have not made the cardiologist apt but then a part of me agrees with it. I have never had any medical problems etc so its not like I have been poked and prodded all my life. Sooo with that said I have the apt tomorrow at 11am to see if i have a MVP. I think for me I will feel better knowing by a EKG or whatever test they will administer ( no xrays though of course).
It was funny the office left me a message this morning stating to bring a list of all medications and the dosage of each one. I automatically began to feel like I was 65

Sooo keep some Happy healthy heart thoughts for me pleaaaaaaaase.

I hope they are able to give me the results right then and there. If i knew how to cheat on this test I would

Oh mama, it is no fun being poked and prodded, especially when you are pregnant!

Your remark about feeling 65 made me laugh! I've been helping my 85 year old grandmother out, taking her to dr. appts, etc. and that's exactly how it is. Everything is about her medication, adjusting it up and down, having it conflict with other medications, etc. I feel like an expert on her medication now.

I'm sending you healthy thoughts for clean test results!

I believe they use ultrasound to diagnose valve issues but I am not certain. I had one once for some irregular heartbeats I was having.

Good luck with the test! I hope things are just fine.

Hi Michelle,
Hope all goes well for your appointment. Wanted to let you know I just had my cardiologist appointment last week because the OB wanted to check on my MVP. They did an EKG and an electrocardiogram (U/S for the heart). Wow, I don't remember the last one I had (2001) as well, but I was so impressed with how hard our hearts work constantly and we take advantage of it just being there. Of course I have MVP which the tech knew, they just check on the blood flow, make sure you don't have any signs of infection, how the valves are working (mine is floppy), etc. The tech wasn't supposed to say anything, but said everything looks fine, I just have MVP.

MVP is not the end of the world if you have it, it's good to be aware of it though so that you can premedicate before dental visits, exercise to keep your valves healthy, etc.

Best to you today
