Well, I thought I was going to be o-ing on Sept 9th, but now I'm not sure. I might be o-ing today/tomorrow! But maybe I'm just jumping the gun. I'd love to have someone else's opinion on my chart: Queenie's Chart

I had a BIG dip in temperature today and I had a couple hours of cramping this morning. I know it would normally be a bit early in the cycle to ovulate, BUT I just went off the pill a couple weeks ago. I've read that after eight days without the Pill, your ovaries start to "wake up" - and I'm now on day 10 (I finished my last pill cycle on Aug 23 and started AF on the 26th).

Also, a CM question... I've been taking robitussin at about 6pm on the evenings DH and I plan to try, because its supposed to help thin out CM. Well, I took it last night and either it works like a charm or I'm fertile, because I had EWCM! Anyone else been doing this? (I naturally have a lot of CM - tied in with my endometriosis, I think - so I thought I should do the robitussin thing just in case.)

I'll be joining you as soon as I start my September cycle. I expect AF to start around the 9th or 10th, which would give me an O date of about September 25th. Any other late September pre-O folks?

Naturegirl - good luck this month!

I broke down and bought a ovulation predictor kit - took it this afternoon and saw no LH surge. Here's my question - at exactly what point do you have an LH surge? I know you do before ovulation, but what about the day you ovulate? Is it already gone by then? Since my cycle might be irregular this month, due to coming off the pill, I was planning on testing every other day for the next couple weeks - but does that mean there's a chance I'll miss the surge? Anyone know?

Queen of cups, I don't know for sure if you will get a positive the day of O. I think you do but not too sure. Sorry not more helpful.:

LH usually peaks right before O though so I would think you would get a stronger positive the day before but...:

I think I am going to stop charting for the rest of the year. It is going to be extrememly difficult for me and it will probably drive me s at first. I just need a break for a few months. I am still young (27) and I think have a lot of time. I am not ready to start with medical interventions and I think the extra stress is doing more harm than good. Just going to go about this the "old fashioned way"

Looking forward to seeing a lot of baby producing going on here! We will be back in the swing of things as soon as leaves town.

queen of cups=
about those LH moniters. you have to takethem between 10 and 2 (daytime) for them to show a surge because most woman surge in the early morning and it takes 6 hours to show up on a test. if you are only testing everyother day you are probably going to miss your surge becouse it will usually only show up for one day. it would be best for you to start taking your temps and using a saliva moniter since they are only 20-30 $ and they are reusable forever! i say take you BBT so you know when you actually ovulated because your hormones are going to be all out of it since you just got off the pill-i know i got off the pill in may and my cycles are STILL funky!
:
on my front-
i think i am still waiting for O, i havnt gotten any ferns but i had a little bit of EWM yesterday-none today though..i am so sad to not see any ferns because i should have ovulated last night or should be tonight, but the ferns are supposed to show up 3 days before O and i have none!!!
DH and i went on our "ROMANTIC" outing last night- HAHA
i thought it would be so cool to go swimming in this river and find a nice spot to BD ..well the water was sooooo cold and we ended up having to swim a bout 1/2 mile to find a rock that was dry enough so we wouldnt slip off! and let me tell you rocks are not good to BD on ! ouch!!! then i got attacked by mosquitos and we had to swim back in dark-yelling so snakes would not be near!!!
not very romantic!

here eggie eggie eggie.....
i have a nice soft womb for you!

Well, I took the OPK the day before yesterday and the line was almost too faint to be seen. I took it yesterday and the line was _almost_ as dark as the reference line, but not quite. So, I'm hoping that today it will be just as dark! My temps took a huge nose dive today, too... Queenie's Chart

Yesterday mid-day I had EWCM and my cp was high/soft, I had cramping, and pink-tinged CM, but it seemed by last night all signs were starting to dissapait. Today my cervix seems medium/soft...

I'm new here and I will be starting AF probably today or tomorrow so I will be in my pre-o period shortly. My last cycle I o'd about cd 16 so I hope to be o'ing around September 20th or so. The last two cycles we weren't trying, just trying to figure out my cycles so we could start trying in September! This will be baby #2 for us and I'm really excited to get going. I conceived my son on my third month of trying and I'm hoping this time around doesn't take much longer.

Well, I am back in pre-o again. Af showed up about a half hour ago. I am a little thrown right now, because my cycle was only 27 days, and according to FF, my LP was only 11 days, although I think it was more like 12, could have even been 13.

Gonna try not to obsess too badly this time (yeah right!). I will start my OPK's a little earlier...<sigh>

hello everyone!

Queen- sounds good!!

Laurie- WELCOME !

Donna- sorry to se you back ((HUGS))

--- so today i actually got some ferns! this is weird though . i am on CD16 which means i will probably O on day 20- WHICH MEANS that the last two cycle when i had EWM again on the 20th day of my cycle i was probably Oing! yikes... this means i have a 10 LP---that is so short! does this mean it will be harder to get pregnant?
even if i did O on CD20 last two cycles i still BD around that time both times. maybe its because of the short LP?????
im so confused :
this also sucks because i have a dentists appt on tues which is the day after i probably will O- and i have to get Xrays because i definatly have cavities and a chipped filling.im going to ask for two lead aprons but i am still super scared of the radiation and a conception being flawed....
any ideas ladies?

to all

Well, my OPK was negative today - very light again, like it was two days ago. Hubby thinks I surged between testing and I'm now ovulating - who knows? My temps the next couple of days will confirm that if its true. We're enjoying all the BDing!

I'm trying not to get too caught up in the charting, but being a biologist by training I can't stop testing, checking, etc... This is our fist month trying, so I'm really getting carried away. (Everyone in my family gets pregnant first month trying - and very often thereafter! - my grandmother's one of ten children and my mom's one of seven! Fertile family pressure...)

I would suggest calling your doctor/midwife if you think you're having a short LP. Isn't that what they prescribe progesterone for?

Good luck to all!

Hi all, finally joining the Sept. pre O.
I'm on CD7 so I have a couple of weeks to wait, I O late.
Trying some Wild Yam/Chaste Tree Berry(Vitex) to try and balance out my cycle and hopfully O earlier!

Glad to be in such good company.
When is it time to do testing? I have had a miscarriage 10 months ago and have been ttc ever since.

I do know that I have about a 10 day lp and a 11 to 11.5 day lp if I am on progesterone. (didn't really change it that much: ) I know we have been bding at the right times the past 4 months (that's when I started charting) and I have taken progesterone for 2 of those cycles. Still no luck. No one else in my family has had troubles conceiving and my dh is my mil's only child. My dh is set against having an SA. He figures if we got pg. once then we should be able to again. I am oing, have ewcm most cycles. I have almost textbook "normal" ovulatory cycles with the exception of the shorter lp. HELP! I don't know what to do.

My mil also gave me the "I am never going to have grandchildren!" last night also and it made me so and I just wanted to slap her! Not a good thing to say to me especially on cd3, iykwim!

Sorry so down today. I am really starting to feel "infertile" Btw., I also saw the Friends episode last night where Monica and Chandler went for fertility testing and both had "problems" and were told their chances were low to have a baby together. That didn't help either. : I am so scared and worried that I won't be able to get pregnant. It is really hitting me now.

Queen of cups, hope you caught that eggie!

Welcome Jodie, let me know how the Vitex works. And are you taking the wild yam after O? It can delay O if you take it before, I think.

Good luck and happy bding!

Well, I'm excited! My temp spiked today... up from a low of 97.0 yesterday to 98.3 today! That's a good sign, right? And my CM dried up, going from EW/W to Creamy.

However, I'm still concerned/bummed about the OPK. I tested every day this week: Tues the line was VERY faint, Wed the line was almost the same color as the test line, Thur the line was fainter, and this morning it was VERY faint again. (Of course, I didn't test at the same time each day, so that might affect the results - I also didn't test between 10-2 - the directions didn't say anything about that.)

My charting suggests that I o-ed Thurday, but the OPK tests don't really confirm it. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what my temps do this week. Frustrating! The ironic thing is that hubby and I have a romantic vacation planned this week - we were planning to conceive during the trip - how funny that we might have been early after planning this months in advance! I guess that's the way things work, huh?

Naturegirl - sorry to hear about the in-law's pressure. That's NO fun. You're in my thoughts and prayers!

Queen,
Which OPKs were you using? I have been VERY frustrated with them personally. Last cycle, I did 4 different brands at one time...one was way darker than the control line, one was almost as dark, and 2 were no where near the color of the control line. (Okay, who just said I was obsessive???? I am not obsessive...I am a control freak, that's all! :LOL )

I *think* that your surge was probably on Wednesday, and ovulation is 24-48 hours after that. According to the OPKs I used last month, I think I o'ed cd14 or 15, but FF gave me cd16 for o.

I dunno...whatever happens, I hope you end up with a BFP in a couple of weeks! And enjoy yourself this weekend.

I used "Answer Quick & Simple One-Step Ovulation Test" and sadly, I chose it because it was the cheapest available. After doing some research online, I found what consumer reports had to say about this test: "In laboratory tests using urine with an LH concentration of 91 mIU/ml, only one of six tested Answer kits registered positive. When we tested another six samples at a concentration of 96 mIU/ml, we got only two positive readings." Here's the article comparing all the preg. tests and o kits: Consumer Reports

AHA!!! So, I guess the fact that my line was _almost_ as dark as the test line is amazing!

AND, my temp is up again today! 97 on Thurs, 98.3 on Friday, and 99.1 today! (I woke up earlier than usual and it was 98.2, but fell back asleep till my usual testing time and then it was up.) woohoo! I'm hoping that these high temps continue another couple of days, then I can be SURE I ovulated.

Maybe I'm just psycho, but I think I might be pregnant. I was at a conference yesterday, and caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror and thought, "Gosh I look fat. I must be pregnant." Then did a double-take - I don't look any different! Not one day after ovulation! I think it was an intuitive thing. My husband has been claiming since Thursday that I'm pregnant. Here's hoping!

Naturegirl~ What I'm taking is a wild yam & chaste tree combo.
Ususally you take them separately, but together they are supposed to promote balance in my cycle. Its accually the only "female" or reproductive/glandular system support herbs that I tested for at my last consulation.
During my consulation with the herbalist I was pre-o, I didn't get it then. I had them test me again post-o and I still tested for it. So I got it to use this cycle, I plan on taking it until I O or maybe for a week after and then stopping till next cycle, if I don't get pregnant! I haven't heard of wild yam delaying O but I will certainly ask about that. Any sites for info that you could share would be great.
Sorry your MIL is like that.

Queen of cups it sounds promising for you.

Goodluck everyone!

Isn't wild yam equivalent to progesterone. Wild yam is a natural food that promotes progesterone production. Any wild yam creams are to be used post-O, I think. I have a book about wild yam and it's progesterone link. That is why I thought it could delay O.: Let me know what your herbalist says about it. I would be interested.

Thanks for the support with the MIL. I have been feeling better today. I had an almost insanely odd feeling that I am going to get pg. very soon. I even had a little twinge in my uterine area. It was this month last year that I happened to get pregnant so maybe September is my month!

Queen of cups, sounds like you will be leaving us soon for the 2ww. I want to wish you the best of luck and hopefully you won't have to worry about any further OPK's!
