My husband just went to the urgent care because of some sudden hives. They said it was an allergic reaction, likely to food. The doctor said that it's rare, but sometimes happens after GI tract disorders. Hubby just got over a stomach virus... Dr. wanted to pump him up with adrenaline, gave him a script for cortesone steroids, and suggested benadril.

Of course, he doesn't have a primary care physician, and he doesn't believe me that an elimination diet is his best long term bet to avoid using steroids. I'll try suggesting probiotics, but what else can I do??

Try a food diary? Sneak in a rotation diet?
