I have never had a huge sex drive, but since having my son 6 months ago it is down to nothing, and I would like to change that. I know nursing can have something to do with it, however, I'm just not content to think that for the next few years sex is gonna suck.

I used to blame it on my birth control, but my husband had a vasectomy and we are birth control free. So now I have no excuse. Sometimes sex is painful, even with "helpful measures" like lubrication, having some wine etc. Often times I have bad cramping after.

Is there anything natural I can take to increase my sex drive? Is the pain something I should be concerned about or is it most likely because I had a baby 6 months ago and am still getting back into the swing of things ( I had a homebirth, no tearing).

Any advice? I miss this part of our relationship, and I know my husband does too.

Was sex painful before having the baby? Cramping afterwards is a major sign of endometriosis. Do you also have painful periods? Check out www.endometriosisassn.org and if you think the symptoms describes your pain, search out a specialist (most ob/gyns know diddly squat about endo, and are not skilled enough to treat it successfully). www.womenssurgerygroup.com is also an informative website explaining why you need a specialist, and describing surgical treatment for endo. Go to the endo section, then to FAQs, print out the questions there to ask your doc, add your own questions to the list, and find someone who can help you.

Hi there,
I am with you on the lack of sex drive thing and my daughter is 8 months old. I dont have the pain, or at least dont think I do because my husband and I have not had sex since before the baby was born! So I can sympathize with the lack of sex drive and missing that part of the relationship. I am waiting with bated breath to hear if anyone has any advice!

I take a damiana tincture when I need help getting in the mood and use aromatherapy. I strong beer works wonders or a glass of wine! I agree it is very important to have a sex life and feel sensualy aroused! It makes married life much more fun!
