Does anyone have an idea what a normal calorie count a 13 month old needs from solids as a daily intake? She's still bf about 3-4x a day.

If food labels and serving sizes are based on a 2000 calorie diet, how much=a serving for an infant??

I'm not trying to stuff dd full of calories, but am trying to increase her iron intake naturally without supplementing, and need a base line to get an idea of what I need to get her to eat!!

Any help would be appreciated...

I did a Google search, and came up with this page, which has guidelines on how many calories a toddler needs in a day (40 calories a day per inch of height), plus information on protein, fat, and vitamins and minerals.

However I would not get too hung up on what the charts say your child should be eating in a day. If their diet balances out over time, it doesn't matter if a kid eats nearly nothing some days.

Thanks, lilirose--
The chart was helpful. I suppose I could have searched for it myself (duh) but was sure someone here would know the answers.

I'm not hung up on the numbers as much as trying to get that Iron into dd. I wanted to know for example if a cup of cereal is an adult 'serving size' then how much is a serving for her--I was assuming it was half an adult portion anyhow, so it's almost right...

Now I just have to get her to eat. My good eater and I have had a cold for a few days (caught at the doctor's office during her 'well' visit--again), and she's not eating well. I assume her sense of taste is as bland as mine, and nothing is exciting to eat right now. But we'll catch up!!!

Thanks...
