I went dress shopping this weekend and was disappointed to say the least..Everything is short, tight, etc..ARGH!!

I'd really like to make myself a few knit dresses..Casual but cute in pretty solid colors..But where do I start?? I've made curtains and a few purses and kids clothes but nothing for myself..I need an easy pattern and good material..I have a Hancock's and Hobby Lobby..Any suggestions on patterns, etc??

Thanks!

I've made a few dresses and skirts with New Look (Simplicity) patterns which have fit well and been easy to sew.

This one is a good easy shape http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=6352

I was in the fabric shop today and I'm always inspired because there are so many different fabrics in different colours to choose from. I hate going to clothes shops, there are not many colours or patterns to choose from and nothing fits me well at 5' 0" and not busty! Bust darts are the bane of my life!
