How long should you wait to have sex after having a c section? Ds is only 2 weeks old and I already really miss it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>

Whenever you're ready - just take it really easy at this early stage.<br>
Just in case, you might want to wait a few more weeks to be sure you're healing well.

We've waited between 2-3 weeks and I've had 4 sections. This time it was only two weeks <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"><br><br>
I think whenever you are done bleeding and are feeling back to normal, but if you are still having discomfort I would wait.

I on the other hand was not up to it. My abdominal area was extremely sore and numb. We waited 6 months and I still couldn't handle the pressure, so we waited another 3 months after that <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/bag.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Bag">:

I had a csection two weeks ago also... I feel fine, but I'm going to wait another 2 weeks just in case I'm not completely healed.

If you feel ready and are not bleeding anymore, I don't think there is a medical reason to wait. He needs to be prepared to stop if you discover you aren't as ready as you thought.<br><br>
With my first section, we DTD at 12 days post-op. With my second and third, it was 6 days post-op. The third time was too soon. It didn't hurt, but it didn't feel quite right either. We waited til 12 days post-op to do it again, and it was fine then.<br><br>
I found the first 8 weeks or so post-partum that I was *extremely*, um, into having sex. To put it mildly. It was bizarre really. Then it was back to normal, so I'm assuming my hormones were just really whacked cause normally 2-3 times a week is plenty for me.

Don't feel so bad. dd is 1 yo today and we've done it 3 times grand total since she was born. I just haven't felt like it.<br><br>

My OBGYN said to wait 6 weeks after both of my c-sections and for both of them, I was quite sore once we got started again. I would have waited longer if DH wasn't quite so rarin' to go... I think I did pause things the second time around but just for a few days.

We waited 4 weeks. My abdomen/incision was fine. It was my *other* parts that didn't really feel like normal. In the last month, though, since I ovulated again, everything is finally back to normal. That's 7 long months, though, and I was worried it would never be back to normal. I'm very happy my hormones are straightening out.

I think you definitely want to wait until you're done bleeding, but after that, if you feel up to it, go for it! We did 2 wks after my last section. It was not enjoyable for me, even in a position that didn't put any pressure on my incision. And it was all my idea, not dh's. I was trying to pull him into the shower with me the day after surgery!!! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> So go for it, but don't be surprised if your body isn't as ready as your mind.
