Y'know, I've never tried this, but I love Basic H. I have washed gross cleaning rags in Basic G and that seemed to work well.
I have a front-loader and soft water, so I would probably just start with 2 tsp and see how that worked. (That's how much Basic G I use, otherwise it needs too many rinses.)
I want to come up with something for diapers. I saw a diaper recipe that just used washing soda and a little Simple Green but I am not convinced that Simple Green is a safe cleaner. I thought of Basic H because I have bee using the same bottle for 6 years! A little of that stuff goes a long way! But I assume I would need a little more than usual in a diaper load, so I don't know how profitable it would be to use. ALL Free and Clear doesn't cut it anymore, and I have finallu reached a stage where I want to start making my own cleaners when possible and reasonably affordable.
I gues Basic G would be pretty nice in the laundry since it kills every germ in the universe - but is it irritating for sensitive skin? Would it be safe to add a few drops to a diaper load? Anyone?
I've never had a problem with Basic G in the diaper wash. It's what I used to kill yeast the few times that it popped up. Just make sure it's really rinsed out. And since it's a cleaner as well as a disinfectant, be sure to reduce whatever detergent you use with that load.
I wouldn't use it as a constant diaper wash, though. I'd be concerned about a really irritating build-up.
Just wanted to chime in and say I've got terribly sensitive skin, and my mom used "germicide" in our wash periodically as I grew up; I could tolerate it just fine. As for Basic-H, my sis and I simply knew it as "bubble bath" until we were teenagers.
I'm using Liquid L detergent for this new baby for the same reason-- it was the only laundry soap I could use until early adulthood.

I wouldn't recommend that for others. Shaklee Basic-H is an alkyl polyethoxylate, which is actually low foaming. To make lasting bubbles, you'd have to use an awful lot in a bathtub, which is a bad idea because it anesthetizes mucous membranes such as the cornea of the eye; it's similar to spermicide or Lestoil or Triton X-100 in that regard. However, it is a very potent lime soap dispersant, so using just a little bit in a bath will keep soap from leaving a ring in "hard" water; just keep the bath water out of your eyes if you do that. If you mixed a product like this with bubble bath, you'd actually reduce the long lasting foam of the bubble bath!
