Here's the crochet work I have done for the baby! I've not yet started on any soakers (intended to make a couple), and I'm not sure I'd have time now, but maybe if I can't sleep tonight, I'll start on one nb one in the same wool as the sack and hat. Be a good insomnia project, LOL!

Here's the afghan, sack, and hat:
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z...4/100_1204.jpg

And here it is being modeled by Baby Rosemary*
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z...4/100_1207.jpg

*Baby Rosemary was compensated for her time. She got a break from being stashed somewhere near the bottom of the Pet Net, with a stuffed girraffe bum in her face. Despite her simian-esque arms, we give her a solid 10 on her poise and contemplative expression.

Her Mama, Magdalena Ballerina, was also compensated. She was given several chains of yarn to play with, and an extra dollop of whipped cream in her oatmeal. However, she was quite distraught when she realized that Baby Rosemary would not get to keep the garments she was modeling. She stormed off in a stage-mom huff, leaving behind 2 of her crochet chains.

Why wait? I live in Florida, so I highly doubt it'll get much use, but oh well!

I just realized that I'm supposed to be attaching either tassels or pompoms to the drawstring on the sack, and another on the point of the hat. I'm trying to decide if I want to. Or maybe I should take the elf thing all the way and put a little jingle ball on the hat!

That is awesome! What pattern did you use for the sacque? I love it. I want one.

It's just a pattern I found in a Lion Brand "Crocheting for Baby" book.

I just used Fisherman's Wool for it, and I felted it a bit (oops! Just remembered I'll also have to lanolize it before it's truly done!) so it should be pretty good for night time. I was planning to dye it, but right now I'm kinda digging the natural look....we'll see!

I found the booklet at Michael's a year or so ago, on clearance, so I grabbed it to put in my stash. It has a dozen or so other cute patterns in it, and some of the sizes go up to 4T, so hopefully I'll get to use some of them next fall!

Tell Baby Rosemary that's what she gets for not unionizing.
But gosh, that is a gorgeous bit of crochet work. I'm really impressed by you craftsy mamas. There's so much artistry involved. I need to get someone to show me the basics.
