we had an oxi clean accident on our wall to wall carpeting so now i m going to steam clean the whole carpet. i dont want to use the shampoo they have you buy with the steam cleaner (when you rent it). what can i use instead?

AFM Safecoat makes a great non-toxic carpet shampoo you can use in a steam cleaner.
We used to use Citasolve or Simple Green until we found out they both have glycol (like is in anti-freeze) in them. Yuck!
I've heard some people say vinegar but have not tried it.
