I am almost 37 weeks, and all evening I have been having bh contractions off and on (normal for me), and some sharp cervical pains. I know the baby is head down, so it's not anything he/she is doing, I don't think. My tummy also feels super sensitive, like the kicks and movements of the babe are actually making me catch my breath.
Could this just be my cervix opening a little bit or effacing or something? Is it possible to feel that? All I know is that it makes me say "ouch".

In case anyone else experiences this...
I looked this up in Dr. Sears' Pregnancy Book, and it says this feeling is commonly called "pins and needles" and is a part of pre-labor. It is caused by the changes in the cervix (dialation and effacement) that happen often before labor kicks in.
