My 25 month old had RSV and croup at the same time. She's still coughing and recovering but doing lots better. During the worst of it dh and I literally got no sleep for 4-5 days and only sporadic sleep for 2 weeks. Dd has to go back on full tube feeds and was vomiting b/c of the coughing, etc etc. So it was one of those times when I started using sposies to get through that time, since I could hardly keep up with vomit towels, bedsheets, and stuff.

Yesterday I put a cloth diaper on her and she immediately hated it. She was tearing at it, saying it was too tight and itchy. I loosened it but she still hated it and was screaming and crying and wanting the sposies. She managed to get the cover off and half the snapped fitted and I couldn't stand to hear her screaming like that, practically a panic attack, so I helped her get the rest of it off. I tried again today, same result. So how do I get her back into cloth? I'm not buying a new stash of pocket diapers, either. She's going to have to make do with the fitteds we already have.

Somehow it was a lot easier when she was an infant.

maybe just try each day till she gets used to them again? rub it on her cheek and go on about how soft it is.
Good luck.

I'm sorry mama, what a long difficult time for all of you! Just keep trying, maybe let her pick out which one to wear? And don't sweat it too much, especially before she feels 100% better - there's more important things to worry about now.

Thanks for the support. I guess I'll just keep trying. She wanted to wear a ME AF cover because it had fish on it, but over a sposie. I guess that's a start.

How about using up all the sposies and buying no more and telling her that those diapers are all gone and ask her which soft diaper she would like to wear. She can have her choice of any of the soft diapers and cover mommy has but all the throw-away kind are all gone. Just a thought.

That's probably what's going to happen if she doesn't start liking them soon-- or else she can have a choice of potty or wearing a diaper. She knows how to use the potty so maybe this will be the persuading factor to get her to use it full time. Maybe I can turn this into a good thing!
