5 weeks early, but doing well and HOME!!!

My water broke on Sunday and Isabella was born at 1:01 am on Sept. 3rd - Labor Day! She already has a sense of humor.

She is doing much better than the NICU team predicted, but did need some help initially getting her little lungs to work well and has dealt with pretty severe jaundice (cleared up with an overnight stay under the bililights) and a moderate VSD. Her cardiologist thinks that will close on it's own over time, but we will have to be watching it closely. It's been an emotional roller coaster for daddy and me, but in the end we have her and that is now the only thing in the world that matters to either of us. She got to come home today and we are trying to adapt to the "triple feed" schedule that she's on since she's early. Hope you all can avoid that - it's challenging!!!
