Hi,

I just got a new sheepskin for my on the way girl. I'm letting my son use it right now and think I will end up needing to get a 2nd one.

Anyway, anyone have tips for taking care of? The lady I bought it from said not to put it in the washer and just to brush it clean. I was thinking though that baby messes may not brush out?

Also, I have the unshorn kind. Any tips for using it to help baby to sleep? I see that some people put them under sheets instead of on top. Does that defeat the purpose of the sheepskin?

I had an unshorn one, too. I placed a burp cloth under dd's head because she spat up a lot. But her body stayed on the fleece. Maybe just place a small cloth where you strategically need it (assuming your baby won't move all over the place...yeah right)? I did wash mine with lanolin soap, though. oops...

Is washing with lanolin soap bad? I was thinking it might be good? Kind of like washing longies or other wool diaper covers?
