Hey all you PDXers, where should I go shopping for clothes for me when I have a few hours in Portland (taking dh to the airport). I prefer resale, but if there is the coolest shop with locally made goodies I'd love to hear about that too. Is that big Goodwill still by SE pdx? (down near the hwy 5)

I'm a Goodwill fan... There's a big one on NE Grand, but if you're not from here, it's a little tricky from the 5. It's really clean, and as a size 12 women, they have racks and racks of stuff. BUT, they never have anything CD. not one time.

from the airport, take 84 towards Portland -- south to 'city center / omsi' exit. The exit is weird -- first stay to the right, then to the left/ toward OMSI, then merge onto Belmont. On 7th, turn right, and follow about 5 blocks south. It should be right there. If you get on 5-south, you messed up at exit.

For local WAHM stuff, there is a neat coffee shop by me -- they have jewelry, lotion, soaps, that sort of stuff... No clothes. North Star Cafe.. If you want to know more, I'll walk there and look at her address. Twist my arm... Get a latte...

Thanks! I love that Goodwill and that's where we ended up going. I found half a new wardrobe in linen and hemp for traveling this summer. Some of my favorite clothes are from there...how do they always have such good stuff? I always get a bit lost looking for it (I left for PDX before your directions came), but then I find it.
