What is that area like in the winter? Is it accessible? There are tons of trails. The map indicates "closed in winter" at points farther east of this area. We'd like to take Hwy 20 and check out the area there tomorrow while we have this gorgeous weather in Seattle.

How did your hike go? I don't think you can get much past Marblemount in the winter. i heard they were planning on opening 20 early this year but I don't know when. I think the sing on 20 says it's still closed.
We didn't end up hiking but had a good day. 20 was open to Ross Lake so we were able to go a ways to that point and see some nice sights. I didn't end up finding a trail that would have worked well for us that day with timing and with the weather. There is a 7mile trail we'd like to do eventually. But we hope to hike with friends on Saturday on Whidbey Island.
