Yuck, yuck, yuck!

I am caring for a 14 month old today. I just finished changing her diaper, then got her ready for nap. I turned around and noticed something in my 8 mo. old's hand- it was a turd!!! I can't be sure, but I think that he also ate some of it! His breath/mouth smell rather suspicious. :puke

I don't know how it got it- I guess a piece of poop must've fallen out of her diaper unnoticed as I was changing her?

But my concern- what do I do if I think he might have eaten it? I don't want him to get sick...and I can't get thoughts of e-coli out of my head!

That's gross! I don't know about human poop, but animal poop is very dangerous. I would err on the side of caution and call your doctor or maybe even Poison Control?

Oh I guess thats not really the same though since it was his own poop. My cousin took one of my turds out of the toilet when I forgot to flush and ate it though. I think I was in the 1st grade and he was a toddler.

With visions of e-coli dancing through my head I decided to go ahead and call the doctor.

She said that there wasn't really anything she could do at this point and just advised me to watch for vomiting, diarreah, and fever.

So, how many appetites did I just kill?

Could you please change the title? You're destroying people's appetites even if they DON'T open up the thread!!

Something along the lines of "Should I be worried about DS?? warning: TMI"

OK even the TMI didn't stop me from opening this thread... I've learned my lesson though...

Note to self: Never open another thread with TMI in the title
