My dd is now 13 days old

EBF, lotsa pees, but yesterday she didn't poo AT ALL. Since the mec cleared out she's been a one or two poo a day babe, with very large ones. And her cues are so obvious--very loud and serious grunting, so cute, dh and I laugh everytime.

Should I be worried or is this a variation of normal? She nurses as much as she wants, whenever I see her start to smack her lips or put hand to face, I offer. I don't know if she's gained weight b/c we have not yet been to the ped (still on the fence about that one).

I know that babies poo&pee habits change throughout the first year, it's just that she's so young...and I'm a first timer

perfectly normal.

watch the wet diapers,

as long as yu are getting enough of them -- i'd not worry about skipping a day of poo here and there .,. or more ... they all fall into their own patteren.

DS would have big poo days, and no poo days.......usally one no poo day and 2 big poo days....but whatever.

as long as baby doesn't act in pain -- screaming, latch on - pull off -- latch on, pulling legs up frattically while wihineing or crying........I would not worry.

Yep, it's normal. It's a good sign that she is processing your bm more efficiently. Do watch for the wet ones, like the pp said. BTW, when dd's pooping changed, it was, er, rather messy. She would skip 2 days then explode. Be prepared!

She's perfectly happy. Even happier to nurse all the time I, knock on wood, am blessed with a very good baby

Her temperment is fine, her wets are fine, it's just that she's not even two weeks yet...so that's why I was wondering.

Every baby is different, and normal is a wide range.

I guess I'll just sit back and wait for the big one

Thanks Aimee

DD2 is ten days old and only has like one small poop a day. But she pees like it's going out of style. She's also gaining weight really well so I just chalk it up to efficient use of my milk! I think DD1 pooped more but can't really remember. She also spit up all the time and DD2 doesn't.
