I wished and wished I had 1 w/ DS1, do you think it's worth it for my second and last baby?

I saw a few glider and ottoman combo's for $149.00 @ Target, and I'm really considering it?

Is it worth it?
With ds1 it was totally worth every penny. That's the only way he would fall asleep.
With ds2 I use it to put my folded laundry on before it goes upstairs!

I got mine at toys r us for under$100.
I LOVE mine and had it for ds#1, too. I wouldn't bother with the ottoman, though. I never had one and didn't miss it any. I actually have used it MORE with ds#2 - he loved to rock as a new baby (now its mostly used for nursing and rocking to sleep ) I don't co-sleep with the baby, though so I'm up in the chair at night a couple of times, too.
We love ours! We got it for about $80 at wal-mart...maybe a little less cushy than some...but comfy enough for me! It's been especially nice in these early weeks with me not having the energy to walk him for long periods of time..
We have one and I love it so much. It's where I nursed DD (well, one of the many places), and ever since it has been our "bedtime" reading and rocking chair. So comfy. When she was an infant and I was all sleep-deprived, there were many nights when I'd come in and nurse and drift off into some mostly-asleep fugue state -- it's so comfy.
Also wanted to add, I know sometimes people want to get something for the second baby, but are unsure since they assume you have everything from the first child. If you have any relatives that ask, let them know, or say you say something at Target so they can give you a gift card towards part of it.

yes you are so right, that's why I've been compiling a list in my head

we have the target glider and ottoman combo and love it. the ottoman is great since it glides too -- makes rocking for hours in order to get a fussy baby to sleep quite a bit easier.

Also, we got ours about two months before our daughter was born and it was just about the only thing I sat in for the rest of my pregnancy. Our couch is deep and big and was hard for me to sit comfortably on, let alone get on and off of!
I sat in a lot of gliders. The cheap ones just weren't comfortable for me. I really liked the Dutailiers, but they're super pricey.

A friend of mine had one to sell. She'd bought it used, too. My mother bought me new cushions for it (as much as a new cheap glider would cost). So . . . I got a Dutailier for about 1/3 to 1/4 the cost of this model new. Not bad. It glides smoothly, is comfy, and doesn't shimmy from side to side.

I'd look on Craigslist.
i haven't actually used a glider, but i found our rocking/swivel recliner chair invaluable! and i like that it has nice wide, padded arms--great for laying baby in the cross-cradle bf position, etc. a friend who has a glider doesn't like it because it's kind of narrow and has the hard wooden arms.
we got our recliner on craigslist.
