Okay...SOOOO...I have having a pain in my Pee hole. I don't think it is a UTI because it is not when I pee at all...sometimes after I am done peeing other times it hurts when I was walking around. it is like a shooting pain and then it goes away. Anyone else ever had this? I have never had a UTI or a yeast infection so I have no idea what they feel like but from what I have read this is not it. help please!!! Thanks!

I've had that from time to time this pregnancy. I actually went in twice to get checked. They tested my urine and did swabs and I've been clear both times. Sometimes I think the pee hole just gets a little irritated. Maybe from soap, underwear irritiation, etc. Usually for good measure I drink unsweetened cranberry juice and eat some yogurt when it happens, just in case

I've had several UTI's in my past (often triggered by sex for me) and when I had them it would never hurt while peeing but at the end when stopping the pee. Ow! That is how it would start, which I think was just irritation of the urethra at that point. If I drank tons and tons and tons of water, took cranberry capsules and cut out sugars - I could often ward it off. If it didn't go away in about 2-3 days, I knew I was headed for a UTI. The burning at the end of peeing would get worse and then my urine would develop a funny odor. Plus, I would start to feel it in my bladder. It would just feel sore in there when I moved or touched it. It still didn't hurt to pee though, just at the end.

I think UTI symptoms can vary tremendously in people. My mom woke up one day to have quite a bit of blood in her urine. Obviously, it scared her to death but it ended up just being a UTI that had gotten really bad and she hadn't noticed because she didn't have any symptoms. I think this is probably not the norm though.

In any case, UTIs are very easy to diagnose and treat, often with just 3 days of antibiotics. I'd have your doc do a urine test to check since you really don't want a UTI to slip by and get serious while pregnant. Just keep in mind that drinking tons of water before a test can give a false negative. Once, I had been trying to flush my system, knew I had failed, went to the doc, told them I *knew* I had an infection... their dipstick test was negative (my urine at that point was almost as clear as water ) but they sent it away for a culture and gave me antibiotics because they knew my history. They called 3 days later and told me it was positive but by that time I was already better.

Same thing happened to me, serenitii - I was doing a great job flushing my system, so when the doc checked my pee, it looked like I had no infection. They didn't send out a culture, though and should have. :

OP - I would definitely get it checked out and insist on a culture so you're not left wondering if your urine was just too diluted to get accurate in-office results.
