My Two and a half year old DS has ALWAYS been small. He was 6 pounds one ounce at birth. He was exclusively breastfed to 15 months when he self-weaned (I was 3 months pg with DD at the time). He has always been on the small side. He hasn't EVER hit on the growth charts.

He eats like it is going out of style. He will eat the same size portion at lunch and dinner as my firefighter DH. I haven't ever seen a child eat like he does. He is voracious and is not picky at all. He will eat anything you put in front of him.

He is 30 months and he wears 12 month sized clothes. He is a little guy. My DD who is 6 months is also wearing 12 month sized clothes. She is alot bigger than her brother ever thought about being at her age. She also nurses much less than he did. He was a marathon nurser and would nurse 24 hours a day if I would let him.

Our Pedi says she isn't worried about him because I am so small 4'11" and I usually weigh 110 and less. She thinks he is genitically predisposed to be small because of me.

I am kind of concerned though. He will eat two deals of yogurt, cereal, and fruit for breakfast. Then 20 minutes later he is saying "Momma I'm Hungry" and he goes to the pantry wanting food. He does this ALL DAY LONG! I swear he would eat constantly if there were food in front of him. He eats like a grown man and yet he gains NO weight.

Anybody else ever have a toddler who eats like this? Any ideas or thoughts?
