I know this has been brought up before, but mostly I'm finding info on showering with tiny baby or with a toddler. How can I shower with my 8mo dd who is pulling herself up and starting to cruise? Usually DH is at work when I shower and dd is in her swing. She really is too "advanced" for the swing, but I don't know what else to do-- I'd rather not have her crawl around the bathroom floor. Ick. And anyway she can stand to have a bath more often : so I am really liking this idea: can I just plop her on the floor of the tub/shower while I take a shower, and then pick her up or reach down to wash her? Or is that not a good idea until she can stand without assistance since she could easily slip and fall? Because I know it's the first thing she will do: pull herself up on the side of the tub.

I can't see how wearing her could work, but feel free to try convince me otherwise... won't she get wather and soap in her face? And how would I wash myself? Also would rather not wait until DH is home, but that may be what I end up doing.

Thanks for any help.

I usually shower with DD when DH can hand her off - BUT if I AM alone I let her crawl around the bathroom floor naked until I am done washing, I then bring her in, wash her, then put her out on a towel & immediatly get out myself. Good luck with your baby!

I have a pretty big separate shower with a detatchable head. You have to be really good about making sure the floor is clean, but I put a towel down in the shower, put the babe on that, and sit on the shower like I'm taking a bath to wash up.

I put a couple old bathmats on the floor that I reserve just for this purpose. I start out the shower with DS (sitting like a PP said), then do as much of my shower sitting down as I can while he plays around on the floor of the tub (not cruising yet, tho) and then I lift him out onto his towel on the bathmats and he plays with toys and crawls around while I finish up my shower.

My daughter is 6 months old. I've worn her in the shower. I made a mesh pouch sling for that. She was fine, no soap in the eyes. I just make sure I'm aware of where the shampoo is running down so it doesn't go in her face. Most of the time though, I put her in a jumper seat that attaches to the bathroom door frame. One time I put down a towel and let her crawl around on the floor of the tub. She seemed happy enough, but when i picked her up, she felt really cold. : Not doing that anymore.
