My ds turned 3 recently and has language, but is not conversational yet. He will listen to you, and even understand what you are saying, but he has "selective hearing" meaning he will ignore you eeven though he heard you. This makes it hard to get him to stop the screaming, shrieking, yelling behaviour he has been exhibiting these last few months. Not to menton the whing and the constant "Mama, mama!" It's driving my dh and I crazy!

How can you deal with this when your child does not speak enough to be reasoned with? And he doesn't know how to make his needs known, just shrieks/screams throughs a tantrum. Anybody BTDT and could give me some advice?
