Nobody? Really? But I am seeing her CD EVERYWHERE. Surely there is ONE MDC mama who listens to this gal who paints on her face in marker....

I like Sia.

Though I don't listen to her solo album(s) much, I really really like the song "Throw it all away" she did with Zero 7. NPR ran it a lot, so it really stuck on me after awhile. I also like "Passing by," and "Somersault."

While she has such a lovely, one of a kind voice, she is definitely one of those artists that I am so thankful for iTunes, and I can pick and choose what songs I want to have of hers.

If you like The Bird and the Bee, you will like Sia.

Thanks! I have never heard of The Bird and The Bee.

However, I found her site (so hard these days, no? ). Sia

Check it out, it's so quirky!

And I realized that I totally heard one of her songs YESTERDAY morning before posting here and I didn't even realize it!

Our public radio station played "Electric Bird" and I just loved it, even remembered the name (which I don't do). I just didn't realize it was by Sia. Isn't that funny?

I think I'm going to have to get the album.

I love female voices, but I realized that I generally prefer male songwriters because they are usually more clever : Sorry ladies! I'm thinking of Ben Folds () and Bare Naked Ladies et al. Often, female writers get trapped in one of two camps: 1) Love Songs or 2) Quirky but not that listen-able. (i.e. later Fiona Apple).
