I'm babysitting a baby who's mostly formula fed, despite mamas real and ongoing efforts to build supply

Today, the formula has changed from enfamil lipil to enfamil w/ iron. I don't know if it has anything to do w/ what's going on today

Anyway, the baby is projectile vomiting everything she drinks and has a fever of around 100.5

I have switched back to the other formula, and I don't kniw if she'll keep it down.

If she doesn't, how do you keep a 6week old hydrated? Water? I thought you're not supposed to give water to babies this young, but is that just bf babies?

And how worried should I be about this fever?

I think that formula is basicly the same thing, but I'm not a formula user.

was the baby over fed? like too much too soon? no burp?

I would be worried about a fever, babies that young don't usualy get fevers like that.

Sorry I can't be more help.

I doubt it's the formula. A fever really indicates infection. I tend to be more cautious, but I would call the pediatrician. All my books and websites I've read say that you should call if the baby is younger than 3 months.

I hope the baby feels better soon!
