Okay, this is driving me crazy and neither hubby nor I can figure it out. Immediately after I get out of either the bath or the shower I get VIOLENTLY ill and have to vomit.
It doesn't matter if the water is hot or cold, or what shampoo or bodywash, time of day, etc I use... I have tried everything and I'm about ready to scream. It's gotten so bad that I'm just "sponge bathing" in the sink to keep the stink down so I can go longer between baths.

I took a bath last night and felt okay and very relaxed, managed to actually get dried off and leave the bathroom, etc. and not 3 minutes later, I could barely make it back to the toilet to heave. :

Anyone else? Or any suggestions!!??

PS- I'm less sick late at night and tried then too- still makes me ill!!!

That's awful! I was going to make some suggestions but it sounds like you've tried everything. I thought maybe it was getting overheated, or dizzy from bending in the shower, or nauseated by the smell of bodywash. But you've tried cold water, baths, and different bodywashes so I've got nothin' . As a last resort maybe you could get some unscented soap, shampoo and deodorant. I've found my hubby's bodywash and deodorant are WAY overpowering but they didn't bother me before I was preg.

I'm so sorry - it must be so frustrating. I hope it goes away and you feel better and cleaner soon!

Have you tried taking a shower with the bathroom door open and the shower door open? Maybe the fresher air would help?

Wierd! I know hot baths make me sick.

Yours still must be some sort of physiologocal response to what the water does to you. Opens your veins or something. I would be curious to know what your BP is before going in and upon coming out.

I am SO sorry you have to deal with this! As if it wasn't enough to get morning sickness, but not showering.. ugh!

What if you stay seated on a shower bench or in the tub for a while as the water drains? Just stay put (with a puke pail) and see if that helps. Cover yourself with towels to stay warm and just sit until you feel you can get up without getting ill. See if that helps.

Absolutely. It doesn't matter if it's a bath or a shower, I still feel so sick after. It's driving me absolutely insane.

It happens to me, too. I started showering every other day, just b/c I can't stand all of the vomiting. The smell of shampoo/soap (all brands) just makes me vomit. Even just the warm water does it. (the smell of it, we have city/chlorinated water) I can't wait until this nausea/vomiting stuff is over!

Yes, this happened to me with ds and now with this preg. I was at the point last week where I stopped using any kind of product...but it still didnt help. Keeping the window open a crack did seem to help.

Honestly, I think for me its a combination of mental and the fact that the only time of day where I am active is to shower. Things are getting better now and I am up and about more, and I've noticed this week that I've only vomited after showering once this week.

Have you tried lukewarm/room temperature water? The temperature change would be my best guess. Whether you use hot water or cold water, that's still drastically different that the air temperature in your house, KWIM?

If it gets unbearable, there are products you can use to wash without getting in the tub or shower. Shampoo you spray in and brush out, wipes that you can warm in the microwave so they're a comfortable temperature, etc. Check at Walgreens/CVS/whatever drug store you have near you.
