If you're afraid he'll crawl out of the crib and fall off the bed (which is the concern I'm guessing), maybe put him for naps in a little bed on the floor in a babyproof area? Just put a folded blanket/comforter on the floor as padding. Hope this helps...

I put pillows on the other side of Sofie and a couple on the floor. But she always napped about the same length of time and I always heard her start to stir. Now she is 15 months and can climb of the bed herself which is a relief! I worried about it a lot for a while. We tried a "nap nook" on the floor, but I was nursing her to sleep and it was very uncomfortable for me! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> Oh...you can start teaching him how to climb off backwards.
