My kids take water to school everyday, and I am replacing the plastic stuff we used to send them with. I recently bought Sigg bottles for them, and myself, and wanted to make sure they were a safe option before washing them for use. I have searched on this site, but didn't come up with much.
I did some external googling and found that with acidic liquids they can leach aluminum, but that is still better than the estrogenic plastics. With plain water they are thought to be very stable. And that while stainless steel (like kleen kanteen) is maybe better, the stainless steel ones can leach other metals, but are considered safe.
Anything to add?
