I would like make a silk and flannel baby blanket. So I have a 45x45 silk scarf and a piece of flannel, but how should I attach the 2 together? I guess the obvious would be to stitch all around, turn it and slip stitch. But I heard you can do "mittered" corners as well? How would I do that? I'm not a very advance sewer, so maybe thats why I'm having a hard time envisioning it. Thanks in advance.

I think that if you want to do mitered corners, you'd need to apply a binding around the edges...you could get blanket binding at a fabric store if you wanted.

Personally, I hate binding things, and I'd just do what you describe. You could topstitch around the edge which would give it a nicer finish.
