Would you use just dupioni?

I'm looking to make a sling/pouch for part of a joint Halloween costume for me and DS (I always do these silly, involved, random costumes and this year it involves a sling), and am trying to figure out a good fabric. It has to be a certain color, and I've seen the color in a silk dupioni (which I can get at a good price and it's so pretty) or a weird stretchy fabric (better color but seems even flimsier than dupioni).

I noticed that Zolo's slings are dupioni and brocade together; is that b/c the dupioni is too thing?

What if I did two layers of dupioni? Is that strong enough?

Augh...

Thanks in advance for your thoughts; feel free to ramble about fabrics and sewing and whatever...I'm always learning!

The dupoini is fine as a single layer. Zolo has brocade as well because its beautiful and gives a great stylish effect.

The dupoini is definately strong enough. In general the dupoini out there on the market is around 19 mm(mumme) which is a medium weight, so it would do you fine. Happy Halloween costume making(reminds me, gotta start ours!)
