I thought it would be fun and enriching to share some of our "silly" emotional episodes....

My latest was last Tuesday,Dh and I were going out on a much needed date.(We almost didn't cos I said I was just too tired.)So we arranged for the kids to visit my parents while we went out. They were pretty exited, and Dh bought them happy meals,(a point of compromise in our relationship...)so they were way exited. We dropped them at my parents, and my mom was outside, so she just took them in,and we stayed in the parking lot.Ds(3 3/4+ yrs.)started walking in all happy, then turned and got a little teary and ran back for hugs and kisses,dd (2 yrs)just pranced in with grandma.I got in the car and litterally sobbed uncontrollably !My kids were going to open their happy meals in all their exitement without me, and the look on ds's face was just SO heart-piercing!(I get teary-eyed just typing it!)Poor dh had no clue what was going on, and once I could finally speak, I just told him it was a pregnancy thing, and quietly cried for a few more minutes....Such a "silly" reason for a breakdown! But it was too much, and very serious at the time!KWIM?

So, there is my latest.Anyone else care to share?

Oh, to you! Isn't it crazy some of the highs and lows. I don't have a good story to share about this pregnancy...yet, but my last pregnancy this happened:

My husband and I live in Michigan. And, one day we were walking down town and went into a store that carried all things Michigan. There were U of Michigan stuff, Detroit stuff, preserved state flowers, rocks, etc. Well, I wandered over to one wall that was covered with fancy jars of jam, maple syrup, preserves, dried fruit and foods grown in Michigan. I looked at this wall in wonderment thinking, "All these things were planted grown and harvested in our great state. I was born in this state. I am like this fruit..." I started bawling like a baby. My husband came over and asked panic like if everything was ok. Then, I realized what was happening and started laughing so hard I still couldn't talk (but he thought I was still crying). All I could get out was "The Fruit, the Fruit!" My DH hugs me close and says out of deep concern, "If you want some jelly, we'll get you some." :

I have another one from last night. We have had our first mouse in our house this last week, we have heard and seen it.Very nasty, cute, but unsettling, as it poops all over, and we are planning a home birth, not to mention the general health of the kids and our home...anyway,we bought a trap for it, and within hours we heard it snap!I saw the poor thing die!it snapped on its shoulders, and when i saw it,it was moving its head, trying to breathe thru its poor crushed lungs! I was trying to explain to ds what was going on as dad took it out to the trash
(it was dead by the time he saw it).How it was a ggod thing the mouse was gone, etc...and had to fight back tears...poor little mouse!!!(for future reference, any one know a nice way to get a mouse out?-it was way too fast to catch.)

OK I have two from my first pregnancy! This is my third one but I havent had anything so far!

I was about oh 7 months pregnant. We lived in Hawaii at the time and Dh had the day off Finally ( he was a Military police officer in the Army) I was so excited and happy to have this day to spend with him finally! Well I was getting ready upstrairs. We were going to go play putt putt. I was bouncing around just very happy go lucky mood. I come down stairs to where dh was sitting in his fav chair! ( its this ugly brown lazy boy that was his parents but they gave it to us when we married we had no furniture) I hated this chair I wanted to burn this chair! So I come downstairs to where he was sitting in this chair. He was eating chips and I sat down on the Arm of this chair next to him and reached into the bag of chips when I looked down and Busted into tears!!!!!!!! I was crying uncontrolable and dh freaks out thinking he had hurt me in some way or there was something wrong with the baby! Hes going whats wrong whats wrong.!!!!!!!!!! When I could finally stop to talk a bit I said "THERE IS CHIPS IN THE CHAIR!!!!!" he stopped and looked at me then looked at the chips in the crack of the chair and bursts into laughter. Sooooooo I havent lived that one down thats been 7 years now.:

The other story was in Hawaii as well same pregnacy. This one happened about a month later. We were driving home from the beach and we get on our raod that lead to our house right. Well we had lived in this nice houseing area that sat right behind the Dole Plantation So there were pineapple feilds that lined the street the whole way home. Well anyhow we were driving along listening to the radio when I see something on the side of the road. I relize it is a Cat . This cat had prob been there a few days dead along the side of the road I told dh he needed to stop so he does and sees what i am talking about and says Honey its dead. There is nothing we can do .. I am crying hard by now and I said you need to get out and bary that cat He was like Noway Im not touching that cat its been there for days! So he pulls away. I am crying so hard I cant breath. Dh pulls into our driveway and I am still crying and I wouldnt get out of the car! He said Are you comeing I said NO i am NOT . ( :LOL ) So he walks in the house was gone for about 5-10 min and comes back out with this bag. He gets in the car and pulls out I wasnt saying a word to him. He went back to the spot where the cat was and got out and put this cat in the bag where he placed it in the trunk and then went home and barried it in out back yard!

I have the clearest memory of one day when I was very pregnant. I had a really long week at work, late hours, huge mistakes by my crew, the works. So the weekend rolls around and DH and I have huge plans to down to the harbor in Norfolk for OpSail 2000 to see all the tall wooden sailing ships. I was wearing little khaki capris and this simple peach blouse. Feeling VERY cute for 8+ months pregnant. We're having a great time, we touring around all this beautiful old sailing vessels and then,... I get a smear of oil, like black motor oil from a railing or rope or something in a thin line right across my big round belly. On my adorable new blouse. I lost it. Just totally lost it. Weeping, sobbing, so unhinged I can barely stand without DH's support. The very young men crewing the ship are muttering back and forth amongst themselves in Portugese.. don't know if they thought I was insane or worried I was about to give birth on their hand polished deck! My darling husband just kept waving them off til he finally said something nutty enough to make me laugh. Man, it's quite a rollercoaster, that's for sure!

When I was pregnant with my daughter my husband and I went to see the latest Lord Of the Rings movie. About thiry or so minutes into the movie I started to cry..big sobbing type crying..and could not quit. I had to go into the ladies room and sit in a stall and have myself a good cry ..and then it tok me another fifteen minutes to really calm down.

I just remember sitting there in the bathroom, hoping no one would come in and hear me crying like that..because I did NOT feel like explaining to a total stranger that it was just a pregnant lady moment.

My husband kept asking me all night" did I do something?' He thought I was mad at him..

Being pregnant and hormonal is such a blast....:

I was flipping through the Prairy Home Companion catalog last week, and got totally overwhelmed, choked up and weepy while reading the description of one of the monologue cd's. It was really embarrasing.

I don't have any good ones...just tons of little ones.

Yesterday "I need vitamins, we have to get vitamins right now..."

Today "Where is my veggie burger? I thought you were making me a veggie burger! Do you want this baby to be healthy?"

Today while watching the movie About Schmidt (I thought it was boring) they show a picture of the guy's daughter when she was a child and I started thinking about how she was grown up now and how my kids would be grown up some and would leave me (one is 14 m the other is due in the Spring)

All of these came before tons of big tears and heaving breaths.

Also i read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and cried during/after every single story. It's my "Birth Story" since we don't have cable any more.

My story actually came before I knew that I was pregnant, and let me tell you, I was very excited when I found out I was pregnant, so I could use that as an excuse...

I had an issue at work that I needed to talk to my boss about, so into his office I went. I was extremely unamused at the time, but the thing I was upset about actually had a good explaination, so I was fine with that, and everything was wonderful... or was it. Out of nowhere, I started bawling! I couldn't control myself, and I really didn't know why I was crying, and the worst part is that my boss (a man who goes out hunting and the like - not horribly sensitive....) also had no idea what was wrong with me. I have to say I was pretty impressed by the way he handled the situation, though. He had me sit down and handed me kleenex as I needed it, shut his door, and let me cry..... I was so humiliated. About a week later I found out that I was pregnant, and normally I don't think I would have told anyone that soon, but I could not get into his office fast enough to tell him I was pregnant, and *hint* that it was the root of my outburst the previous week. I think he was a bit relieved....

Most of my outbursts from my first pregnancy revolved around food. The first time I called DH to specifically tell him he could eat the leftover pizza from Olive Garden but to save me 2 pieces. Of course he didn't listen and when I got home and discovered he ate the whole thing I just lost it, I must've cried for at least 20 minutes.

The second time (and this happened twice) was also with pizza. I was getting the last piece out of the box and dropped it on the floor and once again sobbed uncontrolably. I refused to eat anything else and poor DH was frantically trying to interest me in somethin, anything to eat just so I would stop crying.

So far this time no major outbursts but I still have 6 more months to go!
