I have been using kushies on my dd for 5 months now and realize that I hate them! I bought a sampler pack with 5 seperate types of diapers. One of them is a fuzzi bunz, now here is the part that I feel retarded for: What goes where? It came with a liner, does that go inside the pocket or do you lay it inside? With the liner it doesn't feel very thick, do you lay a prefold inside (or in the pocket?) I am just used to the AIO's where you just put the diaper on. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm a blonde what can I say

Not a silly question at all--I was so confused by pockets at first. I just discovered FB today. I got my first one in the mail and I love it. So light and trim but no leaks. Definitely the "Cadillac" of cloth in my opinion.

Your liner (insert) goes inside the pocket. What kind is it? I use Thirsties, which are 3 layers of microterry but they feel pretty thin. Anyway, the urine will go straight through the fleece and be absorbed by the insert, and the fleece will stay dry. This is supposed to be the case with all pockets but I have had the best luck so far w/ FB. Dd wore hers today for three hours and the fleece was completely dry, although the insert was soaked when I took it out! I ordered a dozen more immediately!

You can put a prefold or anything else you want inside the pocket to increase absorbancy, especially for overnights. I still use sposies at night. I hate to put more than one insert in a pocket because it looks so bulky and uncomfortable. But I am in the minority here! I wouldn't put a prefold or anything else on top of the fleece because then your baby would feel wet, and the point of the fleece is for her to feel dry.

the liner goes inside the pocket - and your question isn't silly at all! i hope you have the mother of eden (fuzzi bunz) inserts, because they really do work best.

my son is 4 months old and a heavy wetter - and one mother of eden insert inside a fuzzi bunz lasts 8-9 hours at night with no leaks at all.

Yep...the insert goes inside the pocket.....I used my Fuzzi Bunz last night for the first time (and I actually washed it today and my son wore it again because I liked it so well...definitely need to get more!)....last night, I put a prefold underneath a JoeyBunz Hemp insert inside the pocket and my son slept for 7 hours....no leaks at all, no wicking and the fleece was barely damp even though the insert and prefold was soaked. Today, since he wore it during the day, I didn't feel the need to stuff it so full since I could change him before it got too full....I just used a CottonBabies microterry insert and it did fine for 3 hours when I went shopping for groceries...I changed him when we got home and the fleece was dry and the insert was pretty wet....I invested a lot of my money on fitteds since I just started CDing and only bought a handful of AIO's and pockets (one of a few different types) but am finding that I really like the pocket dipes a lot the more i use them. Since I haven't washed my entire stash of dipes yet...I am going to send a lot of the fitteds back (not all but a lot of them) and get a few more pocket dipes I think....I like the convenience and the fact that they dry quicker than an AIO and a fitted....plus, my fitteds can get rather bulky once I add a cover over them.
