I'd love some pointers on basic, easy, tasty smoothies. I've tried a few but my DS and I aren't huge fans. So, I could use some help / ideas.

We do fairly basic grocery shopping and I'm not very interesed in a lot of health food extras, I'd like to work on mastering some easy things to begin with.

We like sweet things. I've tried some strawbery/banana/yogurt and OJ. I think pineapple might be a good thing to try. I don't really want to add sugar, but maybe some sweetner would be good? I wonder about milk v. ice v. yogurt, etc. I also saw an online recipe that included vanilla. Anyone try that?

Thanks for helping me get successful with the blender!

frozen strawberries, a blob of yogurt if you like, and juice of your choice (or milk/nut milk/ soy milk), sweetener as needed maybe a little vanilla extract for something more like a milk shake. My blender isn't very great, so I usually don't use ice. Pineapple juice and frozen mango and banana chunks is really tasty too the banana makes it really creamy.

all you need is some sort of frozen fruit, a liquid, and/or ice. If you have some fruit that is about to be too ripe, cut it up and freeze it in chunks for smoothies

I've been trying to lose a little weight, and this smoothie concoction fills me up and makes me feel like I'm geting something sweet, but it is very light and helps me get a serving of fruit and the health benefits of yogurt. DD likes it too. I use 1 part lowfat plain yogurt, 1 part nonfat vanilla yogurt, 2 parts frozen blueberries, blend until smooth then add ice to taste (for us I usually use 4-6 cubes).
