Simplifying my stash

I am really debating simplifying my stash.

I have mostly AIO's with a dozen or so fitteds and a couple of prefolds. The AIO's take SO long to dry and I really want to simplify things around here. Maybe it's because it's been so rainy lately that I have the AIO's hanging all over in the house to dry
and I hate it, but I'm thinking of how many CPFs and covers I could get with what I have wrapped up into all these AIO's.

Of course, DH is saying "NO!" (he's not one for change, and he didn't think that I'd stick THIS out)

So, has anyone went the opposite way of alot of mommas on here
, and went back to just CPF's and covers?

Well for the most part I have gone back to CPFs and wool covers. I have tried just about every WAHM diaper known to man, but a few weeks back started to feel the need to simplify and so I sold all but a few of my favorite fitteds. The majority of my stash is now CPFs and wool. I have added a few pockets (Fbs, Knickernappies) for DH to use and for the few times that DS has a sitter. To be honest, I'm not missing my fitteds and am enjoying the simplicity of the CPFs, not to mention it's nice that all my diapers dry in one cycle in the dryer. In fact, I'm toying with sellling my remaining few fitteds this week. . .
I went from AIO to just fitteds and covers then to prefolds and covers then back to aios and now i have a mix of every thing. DH like the aios or the fitteds but hates the CPF so i have all to choose from .......... oh and my aios are quick dry so i dont have the drying issue....good luck

I've been thinging about trying prefolds again. I had a dozen infant cpf, but never really used them much. I only laid them in a cover or stuffed them in a FB. I'm thinking about buying a few dyed cpfs and some snappies for my up coming camping trip
Though I love my fitteds and my wool!

Yup. I went full circle with pf's w/Ian. I even started Zach on pf's, but now he's btwn premies and infants so I'm doing some fitteds too. Pf's are quick and easy and dirt cheap. You really can't go wrong w/them and if you get tired of them as diapers, they make wonderful rags for cleaning and have a zillion other purposes. The bonus is that you never feel badly about the money spent on them, unlike dropping $20 or so on an aio only to find you're tired of it or that it doesn't work for you.

I simplified my stash. I sold all of my Fuzbaby Diaper Gardens and use CPF's almost exclusively. I have 10 CuddleBuns for dh to use and to put in the diaper bag.

I feel tons better on so many different levels. I have found that not only do I feel good about the choice but really love cpf's. I love the simplicity. I also learned to
so I could make all of ds's soakers/shorts/longies. It is a lot of fun!

I love the one step of AIOs but I hate the dry time...so pockets were the ideal compromise for us (I currently have about 16 but I am working on more). I do have a dozen unbleached pfs in toddler size but I save them for if he has a really bad rash since I can't see wrestling my active toddler into them on a daily basis LOL!

i'm prefold challenged, but i've simplified our stash quite a bit and am happier since doing it. everything we're using dries quickly (except the wool covers which don't need to be washed that often) and i must say it's so nice not to have diapers drying all over the place!!! i just packed away the non-quick-dry stuff, but assuming i don't miss it in the meantime, i'm selling it all on the tp after we move. good luck simplifying!!

I never had the money to be a hyena, but after trying other kinds of fitteds, I ended up with my trusty and pretty prefolds. Now I'm done selling/buying, and feel pretty good about my cute little stash. Although I am starting to think about wool (we currently have PUL), but we still don't have money for that kind of switch right now. Some of my older relatives even get a kick out of the fact I'm using the same kind of diapers they did decades ago.

Oh, me too! I have tons of aios and fitteds, but I keep finding that I reach for my prefolds more and more. I'm still trying to perfect my folding, but most of the time I can snappi a prefold on her just as quick as slapping an aio on her. I've always been a "the simpler the better" kind of gal though :LOL
You could always give it a trial run. Pack up the AIOs & try it for a week. Maybe keep a couple AIO for the diaper bag.

That's what I think I'm going to do. I already told DH that I could keep about 5 AIO's for him (he hardly ever is alone w/Aidan...only when I run to the store, maybe ONE diaper change).
