I really need some help here -- I'm new to choosing curriculum!
(BTW, I posted this in Learning at Home and Beyond, and didn't receive any responses!)
I'm looking at the Singapore Math, and I am trying to evaluate the US and Standard Editions for ds. It looks like, to me, that some concepts are introduced a little later in the US editions -- such as additional work with geometry. DS is fascinated with geometry.
Here's a comparison.

I also understand that the US edition was developed to assist with California requirements, but with some recent upheaval in CA with regards to homeschooling, I'm wondering if the US editions won't receive as much support or attention. We aren't in CA.
DS has some great strengths in math, but his school last year didn't really focus on math skill development. I think he's going to fly through some of this curriculum, but I want to make sure that he gets the basics by starting back a level to make sure we haven't missed anything that he needs to build on. We'll go as fast as he wants, in any order he wants - as long as it makes sense. I think he's ahead in some areas, and potentially behind in others. I can work with this, but early math isn't an area of strength for me.
Does anyone have a recommendation on what edition to use? Other thoughts are appreciated as well.
