Mamas, I'm miserable. I'm 21 weeks pregnant and have a raging sinus infection. My head feels like its going to explode and the left side of my face is all swollen. Of course, as it is a holiday weekend, no one is answering at my OBs office. Any suggestions or advice on what I can do or take (herbal or OTC) to help relieve this pain and pressure??
Or, in the bigger picture, what can I safely take to cure this infection, besides antibiotics? Or prevent a reoccurrence? This is my 3rd sinus infection since becoming pregnant, and I'm hate taking antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. But I'm getting desperate here!
Help, please! :

I've been battling the same thing.

I highly recommend chiropractic treatment as a "cure" and for temporary relief, massage your sinuses firmly and frequently. Start out at the top of your nose, move upward to middle forehead, and go outward. Again, this time up to just above your eyebrows and outward to your temple area. Press and circular at the inner base of bottom of your eyebrows. Then the ineer corner, bottom of eyes, moving downward along edge of cheekbones and out under cheekbones. Find indentation in cheekbones, and work that. Then under cheekbones and down. From behind ears, down neck. Front of ears, down neck. You'll feel the relief and drainage start.

Although, if the infection is well established, and it sounds like it might be, you might also have to give in to medical treatment to get rid of this one. If it recurs, and you catch it early with chiro, you might be able to avoid medical treatment for future infections. The trick seems to be catching it early.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Obviously you would ahve to check with your ob first, but I had great success with taking lots and lots of Vit. C. Feel better soon!
