My ds is 7 months old and has been sitting up since about 5.5 months. When he sits his legs are bent with the soles of his feet facing in to each other. I am not around very many other babies, but I saw a couple of 9 month old girls sitting, and their legs were straight out in a 'V'.

He's a chubby guy, not sure if that makes a difference!

Will he straighten his legs out over time or what?! I'm not really worried, just wondering!

Thanks!

My dd is nearly 10 mo, has been sitting since about 6, and has always sat with her legs bent at the knees, feet facing each other as you described. I always assumed it was normal!

I've worked at daycare and seen my fair share of babies...as for feet together or legs straight? In my opinion it's six of one and half a dozen of the other- same diffrence. just personal preference.

My guy either sits on his knees or has his legs out beside him like a frog

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../sethknees.jpg

DD (13 months) doesn't sit--she squats. All the time. So very unfeminine, but whatever. I don't see how she can possibly be comfortable like that but she must be or she wouldn't do it.

G sat with knees bent for a while but now sits with his legs stretched out and a toy in between. He's on the heavy side.
