Six weeks ago, I gave birth to my seventh baby. Lochia gradually got lighter till it disappeared around four weeks or so. It was gone for about a week, and then I started getting bright red blood last weekend that has stuck around all week, never becoming very heavy but just a constant light flow of bright red blood.

I'm wondering if anyone here has ever experienced this and if so, what did you do about it, and what could be happening physically? I mean, what could be going on inside the body when this happens - is it something to do with the uterus still contracting? Or maybe the scab is not quite healed up and it's come apart? I'm trying to get a rough idea what to consider. Then I'm also thinking of calling my homeopath about it and see if she has any remedies, but I think it would probably help if I had an idea as to what was going on, to explain it to her better.

I bled for over 6 weeks with dd. At times, it was heavier than other days because I had a hard time taking it easy. For instance, I mowed the lawn when dd was a few days old..... not a good idea. Have you been back for a post partum checkup? If not, you might want to get checked.

Yeah, mine would come back if I overdid it. My guess with a house full like you have you are not being as gentle with yourself as you should. Put up your feet and take a break

This happened with my 1st DD. I stopped bleeding at 4 weeks PP and started again about 2 weeks later. Turns out it was my period, which sucked because I was breastfeeding and didn't expect it to come back that fast.

Same thing here except it wasn't my period (thought it was at the time though). Period came back at 9 mo PP.

I've recently heard of something called "sixth week bleed" that sometimes occurs in nursing moms. I don't know much about it so am going to look into it more. Might be what I'm experiencing.
