This is mostly for ladies who already have a babe or two. How big were you and your partner when you were born, and how big were your baby/babies? Is there any relation to the two? I was 8 pounds even and my husband was 9 1/2, so should we expect a baby around that size?

Hm, I was 7 lbs 14 oz., dh was about 9 lbs, and our ds was 8.5 but I was induced a week early so I'm guessing he would have been about 9 or more.

I was 7 lbs even and my husband was 10 lbs 2 oz. My first weighed 9 lbs 6 oz and my second weighed 9 lbs 15 oz. So, our kids really take after daddy.

DH and I were both on the small side, 6lbs something for both of us (but my MIL didn't gain any weight and I was a shriveled 3 week late baby, so who know what we might have weighed under ideal circumstances). DD was 7 lbs 3 oz.

Dh was 10 lbs and 24 inches. I was pretty small between 6-7 lbs. Logan was 8lb 4oz and 20 1/2 inches. Although I will say the weight isn't the issue. It was his head size and shape that hurt.

I was 7lbs 11oz, and DH was 7lb 13oz? Something like that. My first was 7lb 14oz, second 7lb 2oz, and third 7lb 4oz.

And cagirl is exactly right - chubbiness squishes, but a big head is still a big head! (Granted, they all compress as they are birthed.) Thankfully, mine have had smaller heads.

Lol, I kinda hope there is not a correlation, although my family has been teasing me about this for a while. I was 9lb 8 or 9oz and my DH was 11lb 6oz. (and no that's not a typo he really was 11 and a half pounds.) So if this baby follows suit s/he should be 10 lbs or better. ack

Head size absolutely is the most important! But I have heard that you can usually get a good idea of weight by averaging the parents birth weights, and with ours, it worked great. My husband was about 6 lbs even, I was 7lbs 8oz, and our oldest was 6 lbs 12 oz.

I was about 6lb10oz, DH was much bigger (in the 9lb range). My babies (all the same father) have been 6lb11oz and 6lb10oz. I'm very curious to see what this one will be!

I'm not sure why but I cook them BIG. I'm a tiny person as an adult 5'1 and hubby is very tall 6'3.

Me, too. My last two are dh's and he has a ginormous head. That was terrible. Made 3 hours of pushing with my first seem like a cake walk. I was 6 lbs something and I think dh was around 8 lbs. Our two together were 8 lbs. 2oz (induced) and 8 lbs 4 oz. My first two were 8 lbs. 1 oz and my next was induced a month early and weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz.

Yeah, I'm 5'2 and my husband is about 6'2. I'm definitely not scared of a big baby, if anything it will make me even prouder of my choice to go natural... "yup, I pushed that giant baby out of me with NO DRUGS!" hehe

I was 6 lbs 13 and my husband was 7 lbs. Our son was 9 lbs 7 ounces! As much as genetics comes into play, I really believe that your body will not make a baby that is too big to push out. That being said, how you eat in the third trimester can have a huge impact on baby's size! (Thank you chocolate covered almonds lol!)

I was almost 10 pounds DH was 8 ... so far all of our kids have been between 8 and 10. Ironically, the one that looks just like him was 8 pounds ... and one that looked just like me as a baby was almost 10 pounds and the 3rd was in between.
