Hi all-

Well, my DD has officially entered the "DON'T CHANGE my DIAPER!!!" phase and diaper changes are getting to be more and more of a challenge. So since we don't have anything aplix except a few covers (and stuffing a cover with a prefold turns into a nightmare when she rolls over and over and over and the prefold comes out of the cover and etc. etc.) I want to buy a few aplix/velcro pocket diapers. We used to have some Happy Heinys and Ella's when she was smaller but haven't used them in a little while. We do have a bunch of Fuzzibunz. She wears a medium FB just fine - is a Medium HH about the same fit? What about Ella's? I know they run smaller - so would a Large be about the same? Also, does anyone know if its possible to get the Ella's w/o the insert as I already have a lot of inserts? Do Happy Heiny's sell seconds like FB do? And what do you think about the fleece in a HH? My recollection is it's not as nice as the Ella's and FB? Yay or nay? ANy other comments, recommendations?

I would say that if your dd wears a medium FB you would want a large Ella. My dd can still wear a medium FB, but needs a large in Ella's and is wearing a large in HH. This isn't to say she couldn't fit into a medium HH...I have just never tried it so I don't know if it would work or not.

Ella's all come with the insert. I guess you could ask the store not to include it if you really don't want it. As far as the fleece on the HH compared to that of Ella's or FB, it is different but I don't know that it is not as nice. I guess that depends on what you mean by nice, I think that is a personal preference. I, personally, like the fleece in Ella's the best. It hasn't pilled like the FB...at least for us. The HH fleece has not pilled either, but we haven't been using the HHs as long.

My ds is 11mos and in a petite toddler fuzzibunz, a large happy heiney (could do a medium in the solid colors but for sure a large in prints), the m/l harleyz and the XL in Ellas.

I agree on the sizing, I've never used an Ella's but I have FB and HH that I use daily. I like the fleece in the HH much better than the FB, the FB fleece seems to be thinning out if that makes any sense, it is very pilly. The HH fleece is thicker, and hasn't pilled much at all. I've also got a squirmy worm so HH are the quickest thing I can get on her during those squirm, turn, gotta get off the changing table, diaper changes.

I'm not sure about the seconds - but you can usually find some on the tp.

So the Med. print HH are smaller than the HH in solid colors? My ds is in-between med. and large fb's so I have starting trying a HH. It is a large solid color and seems a bit big on him, so I am doing a trade with a mama for a print HH. Am I making a mistake?
