I would say that they run large. My DD is almost the same size as yours and almost the same measurements and she wears a medium with plenty of room to grow. The larges fit her but they were too big and poofy.
My DS is 6 months old and still can fit very well into a small!

Thank you! That helped a bunch, so glad I asked. I was going to try to snag a medium and a large, but now I know that I need a small and a medium. And snap-ins for the medium. (I know I'll be lucky to snag even one thing, but a girl can dream, right?! :LOL)

sooooooo, along those same lines, would a skinny-ish 20-lber fit in a small cover over something trim? she can wear small fireflies, elbees, and bottombumpers for size comparison. she has a 15-16" waist and 10-11" thighs and i guess a relatively short rise (can't figure out exactly how to measure it).

Me neither Kristin!
: Because my dd seems to have a short rise also. But I have bought things that are too short for her, so I think maybe I'm measuring wrong.

I always thought you started at the belly button, went betwen the legs and up to mid back or wherever you would want the dipe to rest. And that is without a diaper for a fitted, over your fav dipes for a cover. But I pull the measuring tape snug against her crotch when measuring for a fitted, and am wondering if I should let it dangle out some, since a fitted would hang down from her crotch some, kwim? Maybe this is why I keep measuring her smaller than she is, it seems. It's been the same for ds, I've measured his rise, and it hasn't seemed that big, but then I look at measurments of dipes I own that are too short in the rise for him, but shouldn't be, according to how I measure him.

Sorry to highjack your question. I have been confused about this myself and have meant to ask.

My DS is about 15-16 pounds and has a 15" waist, 9" thighs and a 14" rise. He is still in a small w/ plenty of room to go too, in fact I can fit him in my shrunken Kiwi that I kinda got back to almost it's size. HTH

too funny nicole. i have the opposite problem. diapers that i think should fit fine (medium elbees for instance) are just too long on her and things that i think should be too short (all those small diapers) fit her great?!? so any tips for the rise measuring challenged?!? :LOL

edited to add: thanks christy! considering trying to get a small tonight.
wagon, what wagon?!?
