Hi Mamas!

What do you use for skincare when your prego? I am looking for something that's safe and natural - mainly moisturizer for face and body. My skin is very dry in spots so something that will work for dry skin. I've been using all natural for a couple of months (honey, ACV, jojoba oil, shea butter) but wanted to hear what others suggested. Currently I'm TTC#2
: During my first pregnancy my skin was a mess, pimple central! I also asked this in NFL Reviews but thought I'd ask here too.

TIA!

Just what I thought. Here in Germany they have a saying that I have found to be pretty true. If you are pregnant with a girl, she will take your beauty away and your skin will get real bad (mine did too)

If you are pregnant with a boy you will have beautiful skin (which I had with my son)

My skin went so dry and itchy so I found that using a Dead Sea Salt scrub with various oils helped tremendously! I don't go a day without it now.
Also a lotion that I use on my face and body is http://www.shikai.com/products/borage.htm. This lotion is pricey but it's fantastic. A little goes a long way.

I've been using Anakiri for a while now and I love it. No chemicals, pure essential oils, no mineral oil. I love the herbalfusion body oil and the Essential Day Lotion. www.anakiri.com

My first 18 weeks of pregnancy was hell for my skin. I broke out with tiny little zits all over my hairline and ocassionally I would get the big massive ones that took a long time to surface.... so I thought I was having a girl, until of course the ultrasound proved me wrong. Since then it has slowly cleared up and right now it's pretty clear, but I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that I switched from washing my face with Dove or any other soap on the soapdish to Bronner's Castille soap. I certainly felt a difference almost immediately afer using it. I also use some vitamin c on my face to prevent the pregnancy mask. Then for daytime I really just use sunblock on my face, even if I intend to stay indoors all day. For night time I mix a bit of jojoba and raw shea butter and a drop of vitamin E for my face, but not every single night since I'm lazy.

I use Arbonne. I like it because it' mostly botannical based. I haven't noticed a change in my skin at all. I'm having a girl and my skin is just as clear as it always was. I don't know.

i have become OBSESSED with a line of products called suki. they are crazy expensive, but when i'm at the whole foods and getting upset about being pregnant and not being able to eat wheat or eggs or cow dairy or refined sugars (trying to prevent another itchy baby...) i like to wander over to the fancy face stuff and pick some up. it's pure and it's simple and it smells fantastic - i can't eat it, but it makes me happy. and my terrible ezcema ridden skin has never been better.
or maybe i'm just having a boy
.
(i like the lemongrass cleanser alternating every other day with the cleansing lotion. love it love it love it.)

I make soap, and I use the oils I want on my skin to make it, and keep the lye level appropriate to whatever I want to do with the soap. I use grapeseed oil, rice bran oil, soy, coconut, olive, and beeswax. I've got a formula that I like worked out. There are other good oils, but I have sources I like for thes, and they do what I want.

I'm having a girl too, and with blotchy, dry, tingly skin and callused (sp?) feet. With my first, a boy, my skin was all nice and clear and I didn't need to use a moisturizer.

Right now I'm using La Natura Cocovanilla 100% Shea Butter.. really nice for that tight, stretchy dry belly skin of mine

It's Pure Shea Butter and their "proprietary blend of essential oils". No Animal Ingredients. No Animal Testing. I love the smell too.
