Now that cold weather is here I am wanting to put my boys back in their sleep sacs at night - I feel they are too young for blankets still (a local toddler was suffocated by his blanket during naptime last month and I've been freaked out ever since) and my boys will not keep socks on so I'm always worried about their feet getting cold. But would a sleep sac over longies be too warm? What do those of you who use longies at night do?

I agree. If your room is pretty chilly at night, a sleep sac over longies should be fine.

My newborn has worn longies under cotton gown/sacks with no problems, I don't see why it wouldn't work for a toddler too.

Have you tried those big chunky slippers with a sock like cuff to keep them on, in their favorite characters? Target had several when we were there last week, Thomas, Wiggles, etc..

Thanks mamas! We usually keep the house cool at night, and I have a sheet, light blanket, and down comforter over me, so I feel bad when the boys don't have anything at all but their longies, tops, and bare feet! (they don't sleep with us anymore). I'll start using the sac with the longies - thanks for the input.
