How old is your child? I would probably use a Mei Tei in a back carry or I would make my husband put a bigger kid in a frame back-pack carrier.
SLing for Hiking
Which sling would you recommend for Hiking? IM not talking all day, rough and tough hiking though? I was thinking something along the lines of Mei Tei, Ella roo............?

Definitely a Papatum or Ergo. You can wear them for hours comfortably.
My friend just bought a Patapum for hiking and he loves it.
