Hi there, I see that there a lot of mamas on the other side of the bridge, but, with 4 kids, and 1 getting ready to go back to school, that's a little too far for us to travel. I have chatted with a few mamas on other message boards, but they aren't like us. I would like to meet like mindes mamas who live near me and mabye we can start up a group for outings to the zoo or to the mall
: I know that you guys are out there. We just have to find each other
If you don't mind traveling then all are welcome. I am also interested in going camping before it gets too cold, but not yet, cause DH will absolutly not sleep in a tent when it's hot, mabye sept?

HennyPenny ~ The lowest I see for houses is usually $750+, but plan on looking outside Salisbury for that (think: Fruitland, Willards, Delmar, Pocomoke or into DE). Depends on how close you want to be to amenities. There are some unpleasant areas in Salisbury, so do thoroughly investigate the area first. Delmarvaclassifieds dot com is a good site if you want to do some online research and see what's out there in the area.

To tell ya the truth, I live in DE...15 mins away from Salisbury, and LOVE IT. Delaware is tax free, and salisbury, has lots of places to go, shopping, fun, etc. but over here, we are in the country, and still really close to the city. It is really a great area. I agree with mama2claire salisbury can be a little seedy, I would check in to DE. Good luck, and if you need to know anything else, I have lived here ALL my life, so if ya have any more ????? just ask

Hello!! I am a mommy with 3 kids in the Rehoboth area. Now that the kids are getting ready for school a bunch of us mommies(ones I have met from school) with younger kids are going to be doing things together. We are already planning on going to the zoo and mall. Let me know if anyone wants to get together with us either in Salisbury or around Rehoboth.

I'm tellin ya, I can be so lazy
...When yall come this way, let me know, I wanna get together, but I'm gonna tell ya the truth, I am just not organized enough to organize any thing.
But ds#1 is back in school, and I need to get my butt in gear and get out of the house. DD, has decided to go on a sleeping strike so I feel so tired, the house is a wreck, and to top it all off it has been cloudy for days, and I really needthe sunshine. I feel like this
ykwim? Ugh, I feel lethargic, like i'm pregnant
That had better not be the case, since I got a tubal after dd. (4 was all dh could stand)
I wonder what the failure rate is of those?
: I think I'm just tired. Just needed to vent a little...

Hi there Eastern Shore Mommies!

I live in Baltimore but daydream about moving to the Shore. My parents/older sister are in St.Michaels and by younger sis is in Cambridge.

I first moved to MD from Seattle, and interned with the Bay Foundation living on Fox Island, near Smith and Tangier Islands. Fell in love with the Bay and the Eastern shore. Ended up relocating to Baltimore, have been here since.

Wondering if I could ask you all a few questions...my biggest hesitation is that I am a lesbian, live with my partner and are planning on having children. Desperately want to find 'country life' that is gay-friendly enough that I am not afraid and can find a community that is accepting. I know Rehoboth Beach is a great spot, but is too pricey for us. I am an OB nurse, she is a social worker. Any suggestions on good places to consider? Also, how are public schools? Do any of you homeschool, I've heard there is a community down there.

Baltimore has some great features, but I am a country girl at heart and feel like I'm not nurturing my true self here. Any feedback would be awesome. Thanks!

I agree with you about Rehobth. You could also look into Milton, Millsboro, Milford and Long Neck. OBYN's around here are a must. We need more. We are a big growing area that is always needing more doctors. If you look around the area that is outside of Rehoboth, homes are a lot cheaper. PM me if you want some more info about the area or on the schools. Good luck and Rehobth is a very family area that will not turn away anyone no matter what.
