I think so, but sadly a lot of people want their children cleaned off before they hold them. My oldest didn't have much vernix, but my youngest was caked in the stuff. She didn't get a bath until she was around 2 weeks old or so.

I love this connection, because I think it's hard for people to see a newborn baby as filthy, stinky, disgusting. I mean, yeah...they're a little goopy when they come out but after a bath they're totally precious and kissable...right?
